Important Dates
Feb 14- Currently enrolled and returning student registration begins
Feb 21- President's Day (campus closed)
Feb 22- New student registration begins
Feb 25- Last day to submit pass/non-credit petition
Feb 25- Last day to complete official withdrawal from winter quarter

New Student Appointment (NSA)

If this is your first academic quarter, you must schedule your NSA with your assigned advisor at the IP office. If you fail to complete your appointment by the 8th week of the quarter, your registration account will be blocked for spring registration. Yikes!

NEWS FLASH: Campus Safety Rides have New Boundaries as of Feb 1st.

Transferring to University in 2011?


Are you ready to transfer? Have you chosen at least five schools to apply to? Application deadlines are fast approaching. There is a lot of helpful info on Angel! You will need to prepare many documents. Most require: a financial statement, transcripts from high school and college, TOEFL or IELTS scores and immunization records along with your complete application. Check under admissions for your school to know which documents are required. Prepare early! All of this takes time.

Get help with your essays for university transfer. Melanie is available in IP to review your personal statement essay(s) by appointment on Thursdays between 9:00am and 2:00pm.

Getting a Driver's License or WA State ID?

Once again, there have been changes to the requirements for getting a Washington ID or driver license. Click here for a video which explains what documents you need to take with you. Also, if you do not have a Social Security number, it will take 1-2 months to receive your card.

IESL Announcement

IESL students who received an academic score on the TOEFL exam will be notified on Tuesday, February 1st by Debbie VanHoy. She will also provide details about the next steps in the academic preparation of these students. Even if you received a passing score on the TOEFL, you must still attend your IESL classes this quarter!

Job Opening: IP Advisor's Assistant


Must be able to work spring 2011-spring 2012

This job includes office work: running reports, making fliers, assisting with orientations, workshops and volunteer events, giving creative and technical support to E-News, updating Angel, and Facebook, helping manage Peer Volunteers and other tasks as assigned.For a more complete job description come to the IP Office to pick up an application.

Job Opening: Safety Rides Recorder

The person in this position will ride in the Safety Ride van with a Campus Safety Staff member. Responsibilities and qualifications include:
*Taking calls on the Safety Ride phone for pick up requests.
*Providing directions, if necessary, to the Safety Staff driver to pick up and drop off locations.
*Recording pick up and drop off locations and number of students transported to each drop off location as well as any other requested information.
*Must have written and spoken English proficiency
*Must be detail-oriented
*Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Applications will be available in the IP office beginning January 31st
Peer Volunteer Applications Available Now for Spring/Summer!
Help welcome new international students to Green River and assist students and Advisors with quarterly advising activities.
Requirements:
· Must attend new student orientation during spring and summer quarters (see volunteer description in IP for dates)
· Be outgoing and open to meeting new people
· Have attended GRCC for at least two quarters by the time spring quarter begins
· Be a current GRCC student and commit to volunteering during spring and summer
· Are currently and actively involved in the GRCC campus community
· Prefer previous volunteer or work experience
Complete volunteer descriptions and applications are available now at the front desk of the IP Office. Applications are due by Friday, Feb. 4th at 5:00pm in the IP Office.

* GRCC Safety Alert- Subscribe to GRCC Safety Alert and keep informed of Campus emergencies, safety issues and inclement weather emergency closures. This is a FREE service available to all GRCC students. Click here to learn more and to subscribe.
* Send a Red Flag- GRCC has an information reporting system. Please click here to report any suspicious behavior or security threats on campus. In a true emergency please call 911 first to contact the police, the fire department or to get emergency medical help.
* Campus Safety Rides are available from dusk until 11:00 pm on Sunday through Thursday, and dusk until 2:00 am on Friday and Saturday. Call 253-797-4868 which will put you in direct contact with the driver of the van that night. Be safe, use Safety Rides!
