Important Dates

May 20- Last day to submit pass/non-credit petition to Enrollment Services.
May 20- Last day to officially withdraw or add classes for spring quarter.

Apply for your diploma now if you are graduating this spring or summer:

· See an advisor to get a Degree Audit before you submit your application.
· You can walk in the ceremony in June if you are graduating this spring or summer
· More info about the ceremony (including when and where it will held and how to get your cap and gown) will be posted on the GRCC website.
12 Credit Rule and Online Classes VERY IMPORTANT!!!
You must take a minimum of 12 credits if you are not registered on a vacation quarter this summer. Each quarter you need at least 9 credits in the classroom (not online). If you are not registered for at least 9 credits in the classroom, or want to take all online classes you must be registered for a vacation quarter. Please speak with your advisor before summer quarter starts if you have questions or need help registering for summer classes.

Student Insurance During Summer Break
· If you are taking summer off (no classes) and staying in the US, you still need to pay for health insurance.
· Bring a check to the IP office made out to “The Lewer Agency” for $186.
· Your check must be in by the first day of summer quarter (June 20).
· Students are encouraged to pay for insurance even when returning home because of the “pre-existing condition” problem, but this is not required.

No Online Services (no registration) Available Memorial day Week-end

On Friday, May 27th at 5:00pm, all of Green River Community College's computer systems will be taken offline (and will not be available for use) for scheduled maintenance. This scheduled maintenance period will last until Tuesday, May 31st at 10:00am. You can register classes before and after, but no online services will be available all week-end long.
Writing Center Closing during Summer Quarter

Due to budget cuts the Writing Center at GRCC will be closed during summer quarter. The Writing Center will reopen in fall quarter.

What must I do now that I have been accepted by a 4 year university? Will all my credits transfer? What about my I-20? I will be traveling home. I’ve been accepted to more than one school. How do I choose? Bring your questions about university transfer and the advisors will help remove the mysteries.

“Why I do, What I do” Scholarship Workshop
Tuesday, May 24 · 2:00pm - 3:00pm, in SMT 231
Do you have a dream? Do you have a goal? Do you want to figure out what is the key to transfer into top university? We have invited 3 great speakers and advisor Alvin Tai to have a presentation and discussion with us! IP offers "WID, WID" $1,500 scholarship to international students every year. Come and learn more about how to get this Scholarship!!!

* GRCC Safety Alert- Subscribe to GRCC Safety Alert and keep informed of Campus emergencies, safety issues and inclement weather emergency closures. This is a FREE service available to all GRCC students. Click here to learn more and to subscribe.
* Send a Red Flag- GRCC has an information reporting system. Please click here to report any suspicious behavior or security threats on campus. In a true emergency please call 911 first to contact the police, the fire department or to get emergency medical help
* Campus Safety Rides are available from dusk until 11:00 pm on Sunday through Thursday, and dusk until 2:00 am on Friday and Saturday. Call 253-797-4868 which will put you in direct contact with the van that night. Be safe, use Safety Rides!
