-You must carry student health insurance while in the US during a vacation quarter and if you are doing OPT. Pay for your insurance by check in the IP office at the front desk.

IP Warmly Welcomes Erin Hitzeman

Erin Hitzeman ("hits-man") has joined our IP advising team to fill in until Jessica is able to return from maternity leave. Erin has 12 years experience working with students on the GRCC campus and will be a great asset to IP and to you!

Transferring Soon?
Come in to the IP Office to get your I-20 transferred properly. You will need a letter of acceptance from your new school, plus a bit of paperwork.

Late Fall Transfer Option in CA

Check out California State University San Marcos www.csusm.edu/global/admissions. They are still accepting applications for fall 2011 to international students with a visa currently studying in the US. See an advisor if you have questions after checking out their website.

Need TOEFL for Your Transfer? Register NOW!

If you plan to start applying to universities during fall 2011 for a 2012 transfer, you should be aware that most schools require a TOEFL score. Check the school website now to know what your schools require. Register for TOEFL early to reserve your seat locally. Spaces fill up fast and many student who wait to register for a test date actually end up travelling (sometimes out of State) to test. Better to register and test early!

TRAVEL TIP: Will you have "Jet Lag" when you return this fall?

Jet lag is especially tough when you travel East across the time zones. If you are going to Asia for a vacation this summer, consider returning three days early to adjust to the time difference. Give yourself a great start in fall quarter!

Traveling out of the U.S.?

Get your I-20 signed before leaving the country. The I-20 signature allows you to get back in to the U.S. Come to IP if you need an updated signature. Print a copy of your next quarter classes so that you have some extra document to show when you return. You don't need to show it unless you are questioned, but you'll be glad you have it if you are asked.

GRCC Tuition Increase

Yes, you got it... The sad news is: tuition prices are going up. The good news is: it's not until this fall. For most students the increase will be about $200 more per quarter. Your current fall invoice does not yet show this increase. Check for your tuition adjustment in August.
